Welcome, Dancers! At the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum Powwow we know that singers and dancers are an integral part of the powwow, and we hope to make your experience with us as enjoyable as possible. Dancers will receive full admission to the powwow. Lunch will be provided to those in full regalia on both Saturday and Sunday and there will be a feast for participants on Saturday evening. There is free camping on site on a first come first serve basis but space is limited. Please check in with admission upon arrival. Please refer to the Lodging section of this page for information regarding hotels and campsites in the Warner area. Competitions
On both Saturday and Sunday there will be Exhibition Dance Competitions open to all ages in full Regalia. Judges will award a prize to the winner of each of the following categories:
- Northern Traditional
- Southern Traditional
- Eastern
- Fancy Shawl
- Jingle Dress
- Northern Traditional
- Southern Straight
- Eastern War
- Fancy
- Grass
- Chicken
There will be a Hand Drum Competition held on Saturday with a first place prize of $100; a second place prize of $50 and a third place prize of $25. Winners of the competition will also be invited to perform at the Formal Night Session that will be held on Saturday Evening.
A Craft Contest will take place on Sunday. It will be open to all ages and skill levels and will offer an award to the winner of each category. The categories are yet to be determined and may depend on the entries present at the time of the competition.
