General Public Tours
Visitors make take a self-guided tour of the museum at any time throughout the day. The last admission to the galleries is at 4:00.
A self-guided tour includes:
- an introductory video
- a self-guided tour brochure
- user-friendly DVD kiosks with information about the various regions of the United States
- the chance to set your own pace or to concentrate in particular areas
- the Dream Catcher Gift Shop
- a self-guided tour of the Medicine Woods Trail
Guided tours daily at 2:00
Visitors may opt to tour the museum with a trained guide each day at 2:00.
After you have seen the introductory video your guide will take you through the museum's seven galleries. He or she will provide you with information about the artifacts in each gallery, including
- how the artifacts were used.
- when and where they were made.
- the materials and techniques that were used in the creation of the artifact.
- the person or people who created the artifacts: Who were these people? How did their cultural and spiritual beliefs influence the choices they made in creating these artifacts?
Feel free to ask questions throughout the tour. Your guide will gladly answer them.
Group tours
Guided tours of the Museum for groups of 10 or more are available by reservation only. Reservations can be made up to a year in advance. Please call (603) 456-2600 or download and mail in the Group Reservation Form to secure your spot today!
